After earning my CA designation in public accounting roles, I moved to an industry role as a Controller. As a detail-oriented professional (read: perfectionist), I was confident I knew what needed to be done. But as a newer manager, I was overwhelmed by my never-ending to-do list, struggling to delegate, and burning out fast.

I started researching productivity strategies and software, trying to find the magical solution that would help me get it all done. In the space of a year, I tried over twenty task management systems! None of them solved my problems but I did have two very important realizations:

✅ I will never get it all done, and that's ok. It's more important to get the right things done and to be intentional about what doesn’t get done.

💻 I have a knack for learning new software quickly. Researching the latest apps feels like play to me and brings me joy.

It’s been over ten years since I started my quest to learn everything I could about productivity and technology. I've learned so much, made many mistakes, and still geek out when exploring new apps. 🤓

I pivoted from accounting roles into broader operations roles by driving digital transformation projects in and across accounting, finance, HR, marketing, sales, IT and general operations.

The biggest lesson (and I’ll be honest - the biggest surprise!) is that people are at the center of it all.

It's not about the best app or the latest AI; it's about leveraging technology to help people do more of what they do best.
